The UC Irvine Program in Public Health, which is in the process of becoming the UCI School of Population and Public Health, has experienced significant growth in the past several years, expanding from a single Department of Population Health to a program with four departments: the Departments of Environmental and Occupational Health; Epidemiology and Biostatistics; Health, Society and Behavior; and Population Health and Disease Prevention.

The Program’s large and diverse student body includes roughly 1,300 undergraduates and more than 200 graduate students who are taught and mentored by almost 50 faculty members with backgrounds ranging from environmental and occupational health to bioethics and infectious disease.

UCI Public Health is committed to promoting health equity locally and globally through excellence in research, practice, and training. The Program strives to prepare the next generation of public health leaders to enter the workforce equipped with the skills and expertise needed to address disparities through evidence-based science.
