Upstate Medical University’s Public Health Program offers the Master of Public Health degree with three concentrations: Data & Analytics (application of analytic skills to public health issues); Global Health & Translational Sciences (preparing students for work in global health and in conducting translational research); and Population Health for Clinicians (for clinical students in a joint MD/MPH degree pathway). The Upstate Public Health Program is located within the Department of Public Health & Preventive Medicine, in Upstate’s College of Medicine, and is closely affiliated with Upstate University Hospital, the Institute for Global Health & Translational Sciences, the Rural Medical Education Program, local health departments, and community organizations. Program faculty and staff serve as analysts and advisors for researchers, hospitals, government, and higher education institutions, and are actively engaged in research and service related to the COVID-19 pandemic, firearm violence, maternal-child health, food scarcity, and refugee care, among other research areas.
