SUNY Downstate Medical Center

The State University of New York Downstate Medical Center's School of Public Health is an exciting institution that builds on the medical center's long tradition of excellence in education, research and community service. The School of Public Health's focus on urban and immigrant health, as well as global health, reflects the diverse communities that we serve and the students who represent them.

Located in the heart of the vibrant New York City’s Borough of Brooklyn, the school is committed to identifying and addressing health disparities that exist in these communities, and also around the world. Its focus on global health is notably represented by its participation in the Peace Corps Masters’ International Program, the Global Health Practical Field Experience for public health students and the Global Health Elective in Developing Countries for medical students. Hundreds of students have participated in our international programs.
