The Department of Public Health at California State University San Marcos (CSUSM) offers a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree. This is an accelerated 18 month degree program that is offered both with face-to-face and fully online options. The program is dedicated to building a diverse professional workforce that will meet the public health needs of local and global communities. The curriculum addresses health disparities, embraces diversity, and reinforces the practice of cultural competence, and is incorporated into the two offered concentrations: Health Promotion & Education and Global Health. The university encourages and the Department of Public Health requires students to gain community-engaged public health experience, through research, service learning or internships. Whether they are local to San Diego County or elsewhere, many students find internship placements and projects with county public health departments and local community clinics.
