Proposed revision to Accreditation Procedures: comments due February 15, 2024
The Council on Education for Public Health identified a need for a series of revisions to its procedures manual based on its recent review by the US Department of Education. The Council agreed in principle to these revisions on December 14, 2023.
All of the changes relate to either 1) compliance with federal regulations governing accreditors or 2) more accurately describing longstanding, existing practice. None of the proposed revisions substantively modify CEPH’s current accreditation review practices for schools and programs.
Per CEPH policy, however, we are now accepting public comments prior to official adoption.

Comments must be submitted via this form by the close of business on February 15, 2024. Comments submitted via letter or other methods will not be accepted.
Next steps:
At its March 1, 2024 meeting, the Council will consider any comments received and adopt an updated Accreditation Procedures document. The revised document will be available on the CEPH website with 30 days of the meeting’s completion and will be effective immediately, since there are no changes that require adjustments to units’ accreditation review processes. We will provide public notice of the adoption via the website, email lists, and CEPH’s weekly newsletter.
