Kristen Varol, MPH, PMP, CHES


Kristen joined CEPH in 2010 and served as an accreditation specialist and director of communications before assuming her current role. During her years at CEPH, Kristen has provided consultation to and staffed accreditation reviews for schools and programs across the US and internationally.

Kristen has presented at professional meetings about accreditation best practices and on CEPH accreditation criteria, particularly in relation to MPH curricula. She is a member of ASPPH’s Data Committee and supports efforts to streamline data collection and sharing between the two organizations.

Kristen received her Master of Public Health degree in health behavior and health promotion from Ohio State University. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from California State University, Long Beach. Her prior career experience includes positions as a technical editor for an organization studying air quality and environmental health and as a journalist for trade publications in the transportation field.

When she’s not accrediting, Kristen loves being outside, reading, and working on crossword puzzles.
