Kristen Varol, MPH, PMP, CHES

Kristen joined CEPH in 2010 and served as an accreditation specialist and director of communications before assuming her current role. During her years at CEPH, Kristen has provided consultation to and staffed accreditation reviews for schools and programs across the US and internationally.

Kristen has presented at professional meetings about accreditation best practices and on CEPH accreditation criteria, particularly in relation to MPH curricula. She serves on the Professional Development Committee of the Association of Specialized and Professional Accreditors and holds the Project Management Professional (PMP) credential from the Project Management Institute and the Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) credential from NCHEC.

Kristen received her MPH in health behavior and health promotion from Ohio State University. She also holds a BA in journalism from California State University, Long Beach. Her prior career experience includes positions as a technical editor for an organization studying air quality and environmental health and as a journalist for trade publications in the transportation field.

When she’s not accrediting, Kristen loves being outside, reading, and working on crossword puzzles.
