Located in the Department of Kinesiology and Community Health, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign MPH Program accomplishes it mission of chronic disease prevention using an interdisciplinary approach. This approach is illustrated by MPH faculty participation in interdisciplinary research on childhood obesity, concentration courses in departments such as communication and landscape architecture, elective courses in colleges such as law and business and establishment of seven joint degree programs with other departments on campus.
