Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville
The undergraduate Public Health Program at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville draws from the social and bio-behavioral health sciences to prepare public health professionals with knowledge and skills to use an evidence-based, multi-level approach to address health equity in communities through leadership, promotion, prevention, and advocacy. In addition to classroom experiences, students participate in structured service learning projects and internships with communities throughout the St. Louis metropolitan area and health agencies/organizations at different levels, as well as international travel studies. The focus on working with communities to plan, implement and evaluate public health interventions over the course of the academic year is a key feature of the program. Graduates are prepared for employment in such areas as federal, state, and local departments of public health, nonprofit/profit organizations, corporations, schools, colleges and universities, and medical care settings.
