An interdisciplinary program at a land-grant university, the University of Missouri’s Master of Public Health program is just a short drive from the state capitol. The MPH program offers two emphasis areas: health promotion and policy and veterinary public health. Dual degrees are available in journalism, public affairs, veterinary medicine and social work. The program also offers a Graduate Certificate in Global Public Health that can be combined with the MPH degree. Public health field placements range from a Latin American collaboration with Engineers without Borders to a fellowship strengthening the capacity of rural public health departments to engage in strategic planning.

In the words of a 2009 graduate now working for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention: “faculty and staff supported my areas of interest and connected me with professionals in diverse fields –which helped me get a job. The skills I developed at Mizzou ensure that I can, and will, make an impact in my field.”
