East Stroudsburg University

East Stroudsburg University is a comprehensive state university located in the Poconos of northeastern Pennsylvania, 1.5 hours from New York City and two hours from Philadelphia.

The Master of Public Health (MPH) program, with a focus in community health education, prepares students to enter the dynamic and challenging field of public health as research practitioners working in the prevention of disease and improving the quality of life in communities. Students are provided with a variety of opportunities to study the intersection of the social and behavioral sciences, information technology, human behavior change, organizational and community systems, and policy development.

Students are actively involved in funded research and service at the Institute for Public Health Research and Innovation (IPHRI). The IPHRI seeks to address community health needs by improving existing infrastructure and building the capacity of local organizations to identify the region’s public health and health care issues and to develop innovative interventions and prevention initiatives. The IPHRI will facilitate opportunities for collaborative research, training and implementation projects between ESU faculty and students, and other anchor healthcare and public health institutions in the region.
