Dartmouth – Geisel School of Medicine
At The Dartmouth Institute, our students learn from faculty who ask questions that no one else is asking, find answers that change our understanding of the delivery of care, and push boundaries to transform population health and health care. The Dartmouth Institute is known for 30 years of innovative work. Some of our key achievements have been tracking the performance of the US health care system, pioneering the “clinical microsystems” approach to quality improvement in health care, and showing that more health care is not necessarily better care. The Dartmouth Institute led the nation in exploring the causes and consequences of unwarranted variations in practice and spending – and in developing policy approaches to address them, ranging from shared decision-making to accountable care organizations.
