The Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) invites comment on its proposed revised criteria for standalone baccalaureate programs (SBP).

These revisions reflect the experiences of and feedback from the SBP programs that have been reviewed to date and largely relate to the organization of the document to improve ease of use.
Highlights of the updates include the following:

  • Criteria have been streamlined to reduce redundancies
  • Numbering and organization better align with 2016 Accreditation Criteria for Schools of Public Health (SPH) and Public Health Programs (PHP)
  • “Competencies” replace “student learning outcomes” for consistency across all CEPH accreditation categories
  • Definition of the designated leader has been clarified based on the Council’s consistent interpretation of expectations

Comments must be submitted to using the designated form and are due by close of business on Wednesday, May 9, 2018. Comments from student, alumni and practitioner perspectives are valued by the Council, as are comments from educators and organizations. The Council will review comments at its June 2018 meeting and plans to formally adopt criteria and an implementation plan at that time.

We look forward to receiving your feedback. Please contact Deja Jennings with any questions.
