UNC Gillings School

At the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health, students partner with faculty, staff and communities to fulfill our mission: improving public health, promoting individual well-being and eliminating health inequities across North Carolina and around the world.

Since 1940, our community has grown to more than 22,000 alumni and over 2,000 students enrolled in dozens of degree programs at the bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral levels — all focused on solving the world’s most urgent public health problems.

Gillings School faculty are renowned for research in these areas: Achieving health equity; preventing infectious and chronic diseases; pioneering data science; and improving health from the level of molecules to whole environments. Our alumni make a difference in organizations ranging from state health departments to the World Health Organization.

At Gillings, collaboration is a way of life. While learning, students have exciting opportunities to lead and achieve in public health research, practice and service.
