The University of Memphis School of Public Health is preparing the next generation of leaders to address public health problems. As an urban research institution, the school focuses on the complex health issues prevalent in our community and aims to translate research into practical solutions to improve the lives of individuals and families in Memphis, TN. Research areas include HIV/AIDS, childhood obesity, asthma, heart disease, tobacco use, sickle cell disease, inadequate access to health services, youth justice and other social inequities that adversely affect health. Students and faculty are actively engaged with the community in public health research, practice, and service. The school envisions change in the world while making a difference in the community.
