The mission of the Office of Public Health Studies (OPHS) is to advance and protect the health and wellbeing of the peoples of Hawai‘i, the Pacific, Asia, and Indigenous peoples, through teaching, discovery, community engagement, inclusion, and leadership. OPHS has long promoted diversity as one of its core values. Recognizing the diversity in our community as one of our greatest strengths, our program aims to provide a supportive learning environment for students, faculty, and researchers to serve our communities’ needs.

Degrees offered by OPHS include the bachelor of arts (BA), master of public health (MPH), master of science (MS), and doctor of philosophy (PhD). Our students and faculty collaborate with local, national, and international organizations engaged in public health across multiple areas including epidemiology, gerontology, Native Hawaiian health and wellness, community food systems and food insecurity, health disparities, mental health, and child welfare and development.
